What the project needed to solve
The property already had strong charm, but it lived mostly inside Airbnb and VRBO. That made it harder to control the full experience, build a stronger standalone brand, and market the rental in a way that reflected the personality of the home itself. The first goal was to give the property its own place to live online and make it easier for people to discover it outside of listing platforms.
Why the local angle mattered
This was not just about making the property look nicer. It was about helping a Southern Illinois rental show up more like a destination in the region. By giving Sandbank Cottage its own website, printed leave-behinds, and content built around local search terms, the property became easier to remember, easier to share, and easier to find for people looking for vacation rentals near wineries, trails, and wedding venues.
